Scope
The conference AFRICATEK 2018 targets the use of emerging technologies (e.g. cloud computing, IoT, data analytics, green computing, Smart grid etc.) in developing countries. Building innovative solutions and services based on cutting edge technologies is very challenging in developing countries for several reasons. The limited IT infrastructure and Internet penetration are two of the key hindering barriers.
The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to share their results and ideas on how to benefit the developing world from the technologies’ advances despite the existing limitations. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

Publication
All registered papers will be submitted for publication by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world’s largest scientific libraries.
Proceedings will be submitted for inclusion in leading indexing services, including Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, dblp, MAS, EBSCO, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).
Paper Submission
Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of the paper implies agreement of the author(s) to attend the conference and present the paper if accepted.
